Fall Colors

Olive Green, Caramel, and Berry Colors

For many of us in East Tennessee, fall is our favorite season. It’s football season; God paints the leaves gorgeous shades of orange, yellows and reds; and we get to enjoy pumpkin patches and pumpkin spice lattes. As you are decorating your house for fall or thinking ahead toward Thanksgiving decor, let’s look at 2022 trends.

Color Trends

This year’s fall color palette includes some deep earthy greens like olive greens, warm toned browns like a shade of caramel, and berry colors. These rich colors can be softened with off whites to lighten the look a bit. These colors can inspire looks in your home. Benjamin Moore’s 2022 color trends that we discussed in a blog earlier this year has several colors that fall into this fall palette and are beautiful inspiration for your home whether you are looking to update a room color or even cabinetry.

Updating your room

Many people prefer to work with a neutral room and have their decor bring the color into the space. This allows them to change out pieces with the seasons and holidays. This year’s trends are leaning toward warm tones for the base of your room. This includes colors like sand, rust, cinnamon, terracotta, oatmeal, and muted greens.

When filling your space, don’t overlook woven pieces. These items add texture to a space and variation in shades. Look for baskets and rugs that look natural. Woven chairs can also add some variation to a space or maybe even take a chance with a light fixture with a woven element.

These natural looking pieces can work with a wide variety of decor styles and are a great clean palette for your seasonal decor.

Seasonal Decor

Bringing in the pops of color for each season makes a space feel happy. Grab a few throw pillows in this year’s colors and maybe a throw or two. These can be used through Thanksgiving. We always like to throw a few pumpkins in the mix during October. If those pumpkins don’t have jack-o-lantern faces, they can easily continue as part of fall decor throughout November.

Maybe you haven’t updated your front door wreath in a few years. HGTV featured several different wreath designs this fall that can refresh your front door and bring curb appeal to your home. Of course, being in the heart of football season, a BIG ORANGE wreath is always appropriate in Tennessee Vol country too.
